today's brief

Taipei, 1998. A student named Chen Ing-hau writes CIH, and it sleeps until April 26 before overwriting the front of the drive and trying to flash the BIOS flat. Machines that took the second hit never booted again. Hundreds of thousands went dark. Read the map of what it wiped.
