Command each engine from its calibration, and fall back to idle where the calibration is missing.

today's brief

May 9, 2015. An A400M lifts off from Seville on its first production test flight, and three of its four engines stop answering the throttles. Their torque calibration had been wiped from the engine control units during a software install, and with nothing to read the units simply held those engines at idle. The crew turned back. Four of the six on board were killed. The units check for the calibration now.
