Meet Studio →Find the first airspeed reading that falls away from the one before it.
June 1, 2009. Air France 447 is over the Atlantic at night when its pitot tubes ice over and the airspeed readings collapse inside a second. The autopilot handed the aircraft back to the crew with no reliable speed to fly by, at 35000 feet, in weather. All 228 people on board died. The tubes were a known problem and were already being swapped out across the fleet. Find the moment the reading falls away.
